ABOUT ME...

My early years in Australia, life in the English countryside and an ongoing love of travel have provided the inspiration for my work. I am inspired by the patterns in nature and architecture.
I create paintings that are multi layered with Acrylic paint, collage, and stencils. In the process the layers get covered up, scaped and sanded back leaving behind traces of what has gone before. Eventually they reveal themselves in what I like to think of as happy accidents! I am an avid collector of papers for collage as well as making my own by printing on tissue paper
I take a sketchbook on my travels and record, mostly using Indian ink and a dipping pen what I see around me. They are a record of places been and an inspiration back in my studio.  I also have sketchbooks I use at home. I take them out walking, use them to experiment with and to sketch in the garden and on the farm where I live.
